HELMET ANNOUNCE REVISED U.S. TOUR DATES IN CONNECTION WITH OCTOBER 5 RELEASE OF ‘SIZE MATTERS’ ON INTERSCOPE RECORDS

Now on the mend from a broken collarbone that singer/guitarist/founder PAGE HAMILTON sustained in a mountain biking accident, HELMET will launch a five-week U.S. tour October 20 in Vancouver, BC.  This trek in support of the band’s SIZE MATTERS CD–out October 5 on Interscope Records–will include shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and New York’s Bowery Ballroom.  It marks the band’s first tour in seven years.

While the first single “See You Dead” is creating a buzz at radio, the album is garnering critical acclaim. Here’s an early look at the album’s praise from the media:

“The new album triumphantly reasserts the unit’s ferocity, yet evidence of musical growth abounds: Several songs breathe more freely, Hamilton’s lyrics are less elliptical, and he assumes a new vocal flexibility.” Steve Smith, Time Out New York, September 9, 2004

Size Matters, indeed, and this is huge.” Michael Coyle, Thrasher, October 2004

“On Size Matters…Hamilton sounds like he never left.” Mikael Wood, Revolver, October 2004

“…ultimately, this is about what you’d want and expect out of a Helmet album, and by now, I think the mainstream just might be ready to handle it.” Dave Pirtle, Zero, August 2004

For the fall tour, HAMILTON will be joined by bandmates CHRIS TRAYNOR (guitars), JOHN TEMPESTA (drums) and FRANK BELLO (bass).  Look for them to draw on songs from such memorable albums as Strap It On, Meantime, Betty and Aftertaste as well as SIZE MATTERS, which was produced by HAMILTON with assistance from producer Jay Baumgardner and former Nine Inch Nails associate Charlie Clouser.
